I am so upset! I used decks before on my Galaxy fold 4, but didn't have a real need for it until now. I bought the phone for that reason and others knowing that I could use it. I recently bought a nice Bluetooth folding keyboard and a little stand so I could use Dex mode when I'm traveling only to find that the recent UI 8.0 update broke it? Am I really not able to use my fold on the internal display and have access to the multi-window functions that Dex mode used to provide? Because Dex mode doesn't activate, it just tells me to try to connect it to a wireless display. **bleep**? If anyone at Samsung reads this, go look at Samsung Dex subreddit. people are really **bleep** off!
Dex does not work on Samsung phone screens, even an on an unfolded Z Fold, an external display is required to use Dex with a Samsung smartphone. Samsung tablets on the other hand, with their larger screens, will run Dex mode on their built in displays.
That was not true previously. There are plenty of videos on YouTube over the last several years of people using Dex mode in standalone with no display. It may require it as of UI 8.0 but that doesn't mean it's always been that way.
