YouTube Battery Drain

Is it the YouTube app or something to do with OneUI7 that is causing an inordinate battery drain?

Watching a video for about 45 minutes and 25% battery drain is not normal.. 

Also, the phone gets warm. 

Anyone else experiencing this?

It shouldnt try using a different video app and play for the same amount of time to see. I play YouTube and reels all day and battery is still great on my s24 ultra

Thats a lot of battery drain. I fall asleep to youtube on my phone with a sleep timer and even at 1-2 hours it only drains about 10-15 percent. (With screen on) maybe try Galaxy App booster or clear data and cache of YouTube might help.

Did all three without a positive result.
Updated to latest YT beta last night. Will see if that helps.

Pretty sure it's YouTube as it was killing my battery quick before the Beta

Have you tried force stopping, update the app, clearing the cache partition, and also thermal guardians in good guardians can help the heat with youtube

All of the above. Part of my usual lineup when addressing app issues. Appreciate the response.

Given your participation in the YouTube beta program, and the reported issue occurring within a beta environment, I recommend unenrolling from the YouTube beta, uninstalling the application, and then reinstalling it. This course of action may resolve the problem, as both your operating system and the application are in beta stages and thus may exhibit suboptimal performance.

The issue was with a non-beta version of YouTube. Seeing if the beta makes a difference.
Otherwise, I will go ahead uninstall /reinstall with non-beta.
