Dear Samsung,

Many, including myself are concerned about GPS running continuously and negatively impacting battery life.

Can you please comment in the discussion if this is a know issue that is being addressed?

Thank you!

It doesnt run 24/7 unless thats how your settings are. I only have mine turn on when I open maps Uber etc and it stays off after the app closes.

But it is. The location icon shows all the time in quick panel and says used by system apps. Also my s24u battery life droped from +-14 hours to +-8 hours

Again it must be your settings. This is my location usage and I don't have this issue.Screenshot_20250330_144419_Permission usage_1000382919_1743367459.png

I've tried that via Bixby Routines.
Works very well with the navigation apps but not so much with my weather app.
Pop up mesaage when loading the weather app that there isn't any GPS, but if course it is turning on in the background per the routine.

Also use a profile scheduler which is based upon GPS Locarion.

Think I may be stuck with leaving GPS on all the time. 😕

I have noticed that it is only on for a few seconds after you turn on your screen, to get your location for finding your phone if lost. I haven't noticed any significant battery drain since this beta 6 install. I actually think the batt life is a bit better on 6 vs 5. My location is always on and accurate location is on too.

Some apps and services seem to be using the GPS all the time. You can adjust to where certain apps only use it when the app is being used or turn it off completely but things like Google services etc will not allow you to adjust it.
