DiscussionsDevice: s24+
Build: One UI 7 Beta 6
Issue: GPS icon remains stuck ON in the status bar continuously, and used by "System apps" even when no apps are actively using location. Appears caused by background system processes such as "System apps"
Impact: Noticeable battery drain. Persists after restart.
Workaround: Requires manually toggling Location OFF to disable the GPS icon. Issue returns when Location is re-enabled.

There's no reason users should have to disable functions on their devices to get the phone to stop abusing location privileges. The solution to Samsung introducing what's incredibly obviously a new Beta 6 bug isn't to just take it on the chin and disable permissions on your device - it's to provide detailed system logs and information and press Samsung to fix the bug sooner than later.

Well if you don't then it's going to use the GPS all the time or disable it to only use GPS when you're using the app and then it won't be using GPS all the time. It's the way the permissions are set up!

Exactly, bro. I reported the same thing yesterday.
It remains stuck and is being used by "system app".

This appears to be a quick way to get to a log of Recent Access.
You can also get to it when long pressing GPS on the Quick Panel.
Does not mean GPS is running all the time as the log will tell you the last time an app accessed GPS. Some you can turn off in app settings or make it so GPS runs when tla give app is open. Other apps you can't change.
You can manually toggle on/off GPS or use Bixby Routines to have greater control of your GPS usage.
It would really be great for the moderators to chime in with the community regarding this topic.
