I have Samsung tab s8 that I don't really use. Sometimes they have good trade-in deals. I was thinking of trading in my tablet and getting a laptop. I do need a laptop. But I have heard many horror stories on this sub.

So my question is... should I bother with Samsung laptop? Are they any good? I need a laptop to do basic office work. Run Microsoft office.

Any laptop with the right specs would be ideal to run MS Office Samsung if a very good laptop. 8gb or higher would be my suggestion for any laptop to run at a good speed.

You can use MS apps to run office 360 they are designed to be used with touch, so you may can try that ? Add a external keyboard and you could have your mini tablet running office.

Samsung laptops like any laptops , the more they cost the more you get especially when they are brand new. You sizeup the laptop you want with the features you're going to use. You don't need a laptop with Nvidia 4080 gpu if not a serious gamer.

I purchased 4 latops. They are ridden with many issues and are not stable. It took one year of software updates to make it better and now I dont need to restart the PC every day.

The task bar gets confused, and many issues were there when using external monitor.

Now I find that Sandisk flash drive does not function in Samsung laptops.

I guess it will take another 2 years for them to make a stable PC

I have a Samsung Notebook 7 Spin that I purchased brand new from Best Buy in about 2017 or 2018. I have nothing but good things to say about this laptop. It's held up like a champ, and I am a content creator on a daily basis. I can't think of a single problem I've had related to software, and the only issue I've had aesthetically or functionally is the base of the laptop shell separating due to repeated opening of the laptop. I assume, since this laptop can open 180 degrees and become a large tablet, the plastic holding the hinges the base/keyboard and the lid/screen together just isn't strong enough to hold up past 5yrs or so. I was able to remedy the shell separation issue by putting a binder clip along the side of the laptop, then removing the silver metal handles to create a permanent binder. So for me, my Samsung laptop has been a great investment.

If I wanted a good laptop that will last several years I would suggest either a MacBook Pro m4 14" base model. It will not be compatible with Android phone but at the moment the best laptop you can buy.

Other than that suggestion I think the latest Galaxybook with Intel ultra 255h would be a very good choice.

Samsung design is my favorite in Windows laptops. Plus if you have a Samsung phone and tablet it is a very nice experience.

The only con is pricing and the screen is so thin that it can easily break if you are not careful. It is probably the thinnest laptop screens I have ever seen. Buy a nice protective laptop case and be gentle with the screen and you should be good.

I am not a huge fan of large Amoled displays as the white balance and flickering can be an issue but Samsung makes the best you can get right now.

I genuinely prefer a miniled screen and hopefully one day micro led screen which is why I suggested the latest MBP.

But I really like my Samsung Galaxybook pro 4 360 and highly recommend it.
