trouble connecting Canon printer

I can't connect to my Canon printer I connect to my Wi-Fi and then I open a Wi-Fi and I look for the Canon and the Canon's not there no matter what I do I can't get the camera on my phone so I can't connect them together

Don't you have to connect your printer to your home Wi-Fi and have your phone connected to that Wi-Fi too.

The printer wouldn't be listed in your wifi list. Once your phone and printer are connected to the same wifi, the option to print will appear when you select print.
