I'm the same way I prefer waiting until all of the bugs are gone before they release it. I do run the beta sometimes but I rolled back to 6.1 a few weeks ago I'm not in any hurry to get it.

A whole generation was brought up with an instant gratification and a "me, me, me" mentality. They see someone has something they don't have, and they want it.
It amuses me that a good number of people on here are whining about not getting an update, and an equal number are whining about how an update ruined their phones or took away some feature they liked or added something they really hate.
Back in the day, if you bought something, you bought it as is and the only time you got an "update" is if they came out with an improved product and you bought it.
The days when you never got an update you purchased a phone and that was it until a new model came out that was the good old days.
