Are you sure you're not using an iphone?

That's ok. Turn off sync an wifi scanning all the time helps also.

I assume you don't have an application that will open that file. Was it taken by your camera or just stored in a photo app?

Saving everywhere like that ,some pics take, and sometimes it doesn't,,,im thinking more of an updated issue... but what do you expect of a free phone

On a Samsung Galaxy A16 (or really any Android phone), this usually happens when:

1. File got corrupted while saving – sometimes if the camera app is interrupted (low storage, app crash, phone lag, or force close), the image doesn’t save properly.

2. Storage issue – if your internal storage or SD card is nearly full, or the SD card is faulty, photos can save as unreadable files.

3. SD card problem – if you’re saving photos directly to an SD card, it may be corrupted, not formatted correctly, or starting to fail.

4. Gallery/thumbnail cache issue – sometimes the image itself is fine, but the Gallery app can’t read or display it because of a thumbnail database problem.

5. Permissions glitch – rarely, if the camera app doesn’t have proper storage permissions, it might save incomplete files.

Things to try:

Check if the actual file opens in Google Photos or another gallery app.

Go to My Files → DCIM → Camera and see if the image has a file size (if it’s 0 KB, it’s truly corrupted).

If saving to an SD card, switch storage back to internal memory and test.

Restart the phone and clear Camera app cache (Settings → Apps → Camera → Storage → Clear cache).

Make sure there’s enough free storage on both phone and SD card.

Test the camera in Safe Mode to rule out another app interfering.
