A Series & Other MobileI got a new A14 phone. The problem is, on calls, the screen dims after 15 seconds, and goes dark after 30, on every call. This is quite annoying. I've talked to Samsung tech support and they tried everything they could, without success. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution? Any help is appreciated.

A Series & Other MobileThis is annoying for most of us, but for my elderly mum with Parkinsons and struggling to use her phone it's a nightmare. I came here looking for a solution for her. When my screen dims, I automatically touch the fingerpad on the side to revive it, but she can't do that. Her phone is her lifeline. An accessibility option is required to keep the screen alive during an incoming or outgoing call.

A Series & Other MobileUnfortunately, this is baked into the phone and there is no way around it. It annoys everyone. I do believe this is an Android thing, not a Samsung thing. I have no idea if the same happens with iPhone. A way around it for your mom with Parkinsons might be to either disable security completely, so she doesn't have to re-enter a password when the screen goes dark, or use extend unlock. This way the screen will still have a very short time out period, but at least touching it will turn it right back on. The only time it really bothers me is when I *make* a phone call and need to use the dial pad for voice prompts. I haven't tried any other dialer apps, such as phone by Google or WhatsApp, so I don't know if they time out as well.

A Series & Other MobileGood News, Samsung's Good Lock now has Screen Assistant module where you can set the app time out for the phone and call screen (and any app) for up to 10 minutes. You can also add a button to the quick panel to keep your screen on for 30 minutes. It is, however, only available for phones running Android 15/OneUI 7.0 (might work on 14, but not anything lower)
