Samsung Internet is set as my default, but Google came up instead?

I tried to access Samsung Internet & Google came up instead. Samsung was my default browser. Has Google taken that over too? There was an update to phone a week or so ago. I have A15.

in settings > apps > choose default apps > browser, you can choose your preferred browser, so anytime you open link your preferred browser will open it

It is set as my browser but when I tap shortcut, Google comes up. Even when I open Samsung Internet from Settings, Google comes up.

@Lambpie are you referring to the Google search website opened if so you would need to change the default website that opens in Samsung internet settings

Guess I'll mess with it later. I just used it 2 weeks ago & Google did not come up. Just have to make a choice. I do not want Google. Thanks.

Most of the time Google is set as the default search so when you open the browser it will open buy within settings you can change the default homepage and also which search engine you want to use. Just change the 2 highlighted options and change them

That  still DOESNT WORK HIMEPAGE ONLY COMES UP WHEN OPEN INTERNET WITHOUT ANY TABS OPEN!!! CHANGING SEARCH ENGINE IN SETTINGS DOESNT WORK EITHER!!!! If you press the new tab button GOOGLE OPENS AND CONTROLS ALL SEARCHES ITS RIDICULOUS!!!!
