I have waited a while for 6.1 or even 7.0 but I'm stuck in 6.0, I checked a mint mobile IMEI check because I use their sim card and it said my phone is unlocked, I got my phone on Amazon.

Try rebooting into the bootloader and deleting the cache partition BEWARE it is EXTREMELY easy to factory data reset your device if you aren't careful when doing this. This is NOT REVERSIBLE!!! add a result i suggest you go to a ubreakifix or BatteriesPLUS bulbs (authorized Samsung service center) i do not feel comfortable telling you how to do this yourself. Sorry but I've been accused of stuff before just by giving this info to someone who did a factory data reset by mistake. 😂😂😂

To do what she is saying, hold the power and volume down button until the phone shuts off. Immediately change feom the vol down to vol up while also holding down the power button. This should bring you to the a screen where youll find the cahce partition. Select it, confirm and confirm again and there you go. Dont be an **bleep** and factory reset your device. If there is thay concern, back up your phone first. Good luck! You can also try to update with smart things as well if this doenst resolve the issue

@GalaxyProVr Did you purchase your phone from Amazon brand new or used? What is the model name as listed under settings > about phone?

The model number indicates that it was a carrier-locked phone at one time. It's likely that the phone is looking for a SIM from that original carrier (not Mint) to initiate updates. You will need to have the firmware updated at an authorized service center in order to get updates. Here's where you can find one in your area:

I don't know. You'll have to ask the service center. But once the proper firmware is flashed, you shouldn't have any more problems with updates, even if you switch to another carrier.

I figured that was it. In any case, it's a formerly carrier-locked phone that needs unlocked firmware.
