You can enable block spam and scam calls in the phone settings.
Go into the phone app select the 3 dots go to settings tap the caller ID and spam protection tab you should see it at the bottom.

Carriers have a call filter app may try that out

I used Nomorobo for a long time, but it only catches known spam numbers. Spammers are using "burn" numbers that aren't known, so it became ineffective for me. While I still have to deal with each call, the Call Assist/Text Call is good about making the spam calls hang up.

If you put your phone in do not disturb mode and allow exceptions for only your contacts, all calls not from your contacts will automatically go to voicemail. You will also have to allow exceptions for all your app notifications. You can use the global do not distub setting, or you can create a specific mode for this. If you configure DND to allow these exceptions, you will have to create a mode for when you really don't want to be disturbed. Each instance of dnd within different modes is distinct from all the others.

This is a great question, and it’s something a lot of us would love to have more control over. Here’s a summary of a few ways you can route spam or unknown calls directly to voicemail on your Galaxy device:

1. Built-in Samsung Spam Protection

Open the Phone app

Tap the three dots > Settings > Caller ID and spam protection

Turn on both Caller ID and Spam Protection and Block spam and scam calls

You can choose to block all, high-risk only, or none — and blocked calls will go straight to voicemail or be rejected depending on your carrier

2. Use Do Not Disturb with Exceptions

Go to Settings > Notifications > Do not disturb

Add exceptions for Contacts only under “Calls and messages”

That way, any unknown or unlisted number gets silenced and sent to voicemail

You can also create a custom DND mode specifically for this purpose if you don't want it on all the time

3. Use Carrier or Third-Party Call Filter Apps

Most carriers (like AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) have their own call filtering apps

Samsung also supports services like Hiya, which helps screen and block spam calls in real time

4. Try Bixby Routines (Advanced Option)

You can create a Routine that enables DND automatically based on time of day, location, or other conditions — then allow calls only from contacts

It may take a mix of these tools to fully handle persistent spam, especially if the numbers are changing frequently. But once it’s set up, you should see a big drop in unwanted interruptions.

Let us know which option works best for you or if you need help setting it up.

I don't know how effective the Google's phone dialer Spam Screening option is as it does not work with Samsung's phone dialer. I use the "Call and Text to other devices feature" because I have 2 tablets. It's either stay with Samsung's dialer or give it up and go to Google. A friend of mine says it's pretty good. Wish that Samsung had this feature. I don't want my voice mail filled junk like spammers messages.

No one can stop spammers from calling you.  Even blocking spam calls will direct those calls to your voice mailbox.  Some spammers leave messages, most don't.  The only way to prevent messages from being left in  your voicemail is to have your carrier delete your voicemail capabilities, and then no one will be able to leave you a message.  There is nothing wrong with using an alternate phone dialer on all your devices.  Just understand that they all handle blocked calls the same way - direct to voicemail.  This is so if a legitimate call inadvertently gets labeled as spam, you will know it and you can unblock that caller and contact them.  I understand the Google dialer may have a call screener option (not sure about this - I think it's only on Pixel phones), where it will query the caller to make sure there's a human on the other end and, if not, just disconnect the call.  Personally, I don't think that's an ideal solution either, as calls like appointment reminders are likely to not get through.
