Messages not working

Recently I got a brand new phone that being the Galaxy A36 5G and within my first 3 hours my messages began to automatically close by themselves. I began to seach online for possible situations the main one I found being was to disable Google meet which I did but it didn't solve my issue. Then another situations I found was to update my phone but that didn't work either. This has been extremely frustrating as this happened within the first 3 hours of my new phone and so far I have found no situations. Has anyone else been experiencing this issue?

Google messages clear the cache in settings than apps

Reset App Preferences:

Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps. 

Tap the Menu (three dots) in the top right corner. 

Select "Reset app preferences". 

5. Check App Permissions:

Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Google Messages. 

Tap "Permissions." 

Ensure that Google Messages has the necessary permissions (e.g., notifications, contacts).

It didn't work but i found the solution basically I had to go to the Google play store and manually update messages thank you for the assistance

Was next step update it but figured you already had hope works out

You should mark your reply here as the solution. If you can't mark it from the Members app, you can from the website, or you can edit your title to say "resolved" so that people who are having the same issue can look for the resolution here and others, who are trying to help, don't continually post solutions for you, because some people do not read as far as to see you found your answer.

Thanks, I had the same problem and this was the solution.

Should try Samsung Messages instead. You may like it better and have less hassle.
