Is this normal Samsung behavior? Trying to figure out if my phone is compromised

I have a galaxy A54. I was inside of my secure folder. I tapped on my banking app and I got a little "notification bubble" at the bottom of the screen.

The notification said this app has a bug. Trying clearing your cache. At the bottom of the notification it said "close" on the left and "clear cache" on the right.

I clicked clear cache and then it gave me the open to open the app. I clicked open. It took me to the log in page, but then I got paranoid and didnt log in.

Is this normal Samsung behavior or do I have malware on my phone? If this is a silly question I apologize. I've never seen this happen before and I became suspicious.

If you've never before seen that behavior from your banking app and it wasn't recently updated, there's a good chance you may have picked up malware. Go to settings > security & privacy > app security, and turn on app protection. Follow the prompts to run a malware scan.

Try downloading & running Malwarebytes. I think there's a free version. See if that turns up anything.

I downloaded a trial of Malwarebytes and did 2 scans and it said no threats detected. So I guess I am ok?

Maybe? If it were me, I'd still be a little suspicious. You could try uninstalling & reinstalling your banking app to see if that behavior persists.

You may also want to try contacting the developers of the app to see if it's supposed to do that. If they say no, you'll know you have something in your system that shouldn't be there. You could then uninstall all your third-party apps and reinstall them one by one, starting with your most needed apps. It'll be a pain but it's just a thought.
