How to get notifications to wake lock screen on A05s

Hi, I recently switched from a A10 to A05s. On my old phone if an email or text came through when the screen was black, it would briefly light up. Seeing as I have it on my desk and work with earphones in, this meant I didn't miss any messages. The new phone buzzes but does not light up so I am constantly having to check for messages. I have gone through all the settings but nothing works. Please help!

Check to make sure that Settings>Notifications>App notifications>name of app>Lock screen & Notification pop-up are enabled. Also, make sure that each Category that you want to be alerted is also set to Alert & Show as pop-up.

Thank you for your quick reply. I have done all that already. Everything is ticked as you show in your screenshot, except I do not have anything that says Notification Categories on the App notifications screen.

To turn on notifications categories: Settings>Notifications>Advanced settings>Manage notification categories for each app.

Also, ensure that you've enabled: Settings>Notifications>Notification pop-up style>Show brief pop-up even while screen is off

Thank you again. There is nothing that says "Show brief pop up even while screen is off." The notification pop up style screen has a choice of brief or detailed, then "apps to show as brief", "edge lighting style" and "colour by keyword"
