Galaxy A54 Screenshots causing phone to completely freeze up

Hello, I have the Galaxy A54 and I was wondering if other users were having issues with the Samsung Capture /Screenshots to causing their phone to freeze and completely immobilize it?

It's happening to me CONSTANTLY. I take a screenshot and then the phone freezes up and the touch won't register anymore, so I can't close or clear the cache and nothing I try works to fix it. My only option every single time it happens is to hard restart the phone by holding down the Lock and volume down buttons together until it forces a restart.

PLEASE tell me someone knows how to fix this?? It has me ready to get rid of my phone.

I had this problem just once the other day, but my phone was in an overheat condition.  I force restarted it, let it cool down and haven't had the problem since. Have you tried waiting 5-10 minutes before attempting to do anything else or restarting?  Does your screen get hot to the touch right after taking the shot?

Thanks so much for the response. I can say it doesn't feel hot when this happens. I have tried waiting 5-10 mins, actually longer,because it happened during a video call with my Daughter and I had taken a screenshot then. I couldn't restart my phone or do anything because I was still on the video call with her. Funny thing is it also froze my video and stopped it from working and she couldn't see me and only my audio was working after the Screenshot. Finally almost 35-40 mins later when we were done talking it was still frozen and I ended up having to hard restart it. Usually no matter how long I wait the only option to get my phone working again seems to be to hard restart it, nothing else works. It really sucks because I take A LOT of screenshots. My Daughter is a Brand Rep for some companies and that requires taking a lot of Screenshots, so it's happening A LOT due to all the Screenshots I take and it's driving me crazy dealing with it and not knowing how to fix it🥴

Have you tried clearing the phone's cache partition?  If you take a lot of screen shots, especially in a short span of time, the phone cache may retain a lot of junk files interfering.

Ive had my power button as a double tap feature to open up my camera thats recently been freezing the phone before its even turned on, ive had glimpses of animations even stopping while trying to take effect 🤣 it forced me to just turn off my phone and keep trying to double click my button to bring back the camera several times.. i knew the new update would have glitched out a few features but i didnt know it could have became this bad. Anyways, i cleared the cache of my gallery and camera app and it fixed it from glitching out upon opening for now

I created a routine to double tap my home button to take a screen shot. In order to create this routine you need to download Good Lock and the Routines+ module, that will place the button action control into modes & routines.  Perhaps changing the screenshot mechanism may help, although I probably see it more as an internal cameral issue rather than an input method issue. I have been noticing a delay in the processing of the screen shot to the gallery, but I think it's because the time was increased for scrolling the screen up for long shots.

I'm not guaranteeing it will keep your phone from freezing or heating up, but I will guarantee it will make taking screen shots a lot easier.

This reminds me. I've got to clear my cache, too, before I start having problems.
