Galaxy A16 5g theme won't apply to my Messages app

I can't get the message app to change to a theme i downloaded, everything changes to the theme except the messages.

Samsung Messages no longer supports themes.

Nor does Google Messages, so whichever app you are using, unfortunately, you will not be able to use themes.
