How much storage do you have left?

It may be due to storage or cache data causing the lag , cheaper Samsung phones have trouble functioning if there's a lot of pictures stored in the gallery and especially videos you make in the camera , the cache data in the phone settings used for apps and websites also causes lag after a while , try to clear the cache data in settings and go through your gallery and remove any pictures and videos that you don't want and also remove apps that you don't never use like games because they will cause lag along with closing any open apps that are running in the recent apps list because you might have a lot of stuff open which is slowing down your phone....I have the A53 5g and i often have to do the same thing for my phone because it's not able to function well if it's full of a lot of stuff and things are left running.

Could be any number of reasons, most likely due to having your storage filled up.  Go to the My Files app, and check how much free storage space you have left.  If it's less than 10% of the total (3.2 GB), you will have to uninstall some apps, move some photos and downloads onto a flash drive and just generally clean up the space.

The A16, is one of the bottom tier phones, It has less memory, less storage and less processing power.  It's meant to be a basic phone for people who just need to communicate and perhaps look some stuff up on line.  It's not meant for gaming or a lot of video streaming.

It's not Samsung, it's the low end device you bought. Could be the same with any brand. Go up one model and it's much better. If you bought a used device, you never know how the previous owner treated it. Refurbished can simply mean reset and cleaned up.

Samsungs are actually very good devices , it's quite normal for it to get hot especially cheaper Samsungs you can help it a little by not having the screen brightness too high and closing any running apps you're not using and don't use it while it's charging , also the kind of case you have will affect it because phone cases trap heat... I have the Samsung Galaxy A53 5g and what i do with mine is use a small powerful handheld fan and blow air on the back of it to help disperse the heat and cool it down.

Great idea ๐Ÿ’ก ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š I don't use a backing for my phone, my brightness isn't that bright, and I agree running things in the background makes sense. Next phone I'm going to get is an iPhone. Thank you for helping me out. Happy new year

Hi,

The thing about the budget phones and  any mobile phone in general is don't overload with applications. Everything else use your Samsung pad for gaming and intensive work.  A phone is for productivity tasks. Watch a video, mix a song, send an email, check and configure your agenda things like that.

Bluetooth also might be the culprit.  Check for connections.
