Why? Fyi, phones don't get viruses but they do get malware, adware and spuware which is what the protection protects you from. You can set it to manually scan so it scans at your will instead of automatic. But i would advise you keep it.
It cannot be uninstalled, but you can turn it off or on. If it is off, it does nothing. I keep it off because I have installed my preferred anti-malware app.
