Sine the UI7 update was pushed onto my A15 G5 a week ago the battery was draining in less than 6 hours of light use. While using Gmaps my A15 G5 now ran so hot it was difficult to hold in your hand and the battery would last only a bit over 1 hour. The UI7 update had made my A15 G5 a useless device.
My A15 G5 before the UI7 update run 48 or more hours before needed to be charged and always was cool to the touch before the dreaded Ui7 update.
I had tried all the suggested "fixes" and none had made any useful improvement to the battery drain and extreme heat issues with UI7.
I was thinking of ordering a new iphone as I need a phone that actually works. A bit of research showed in Canada 60% of cell owners are iphone users. Why was I still on the "B" team I wondered? But the iphone cost "Ouch".
So I kept playing with my A15 and in one experiment I removed the external memory expansion chip I had purchased from Samsung specifically for a A15 phone.
And WOW with the external memory expansion chip removed the huge power drain stopped completely.
The phone went from consuming 70% of it battery in 6 hours of light use to consuming 6% of the battery over the same time frame. It went for running very hot to back to cool to the touch! Wooho a solution to the power drain issue. Yes I have lost all my music collection but at least I have a working phone again.
I hope this my help others with UI7 and a A15 G5 draining battery that has a external memory card inserted.
