My weight broke for my washer

My washer is only 5 yrs old and the weight broke last weekend will I was washing. I am trying to figure what could of cause this to break.

Have you done a lot of heavy loads, like blankets and towels over the course of 5 years?  It could have been a substandard part that weakened under the vibrations for 5 years.

Yes, all it takes is one heavy duty bath towel wadded up and light weight of other not enough to offset balance and if machine tried to leave restrained by hoses, where I've caught the same gal doing this repeatedly, and at seventy, it's a heavy beast to put back in place.
Over stuffed is another factor that doesn't pay off well where clothes are not clean yet.
Each article needs more than a gallon of water.

If load is a solid ingot slug fest, that's not really doing laundry ~ more like how a rock crusher works.
