Can't shut down new Tab A9+ after One UI 8.0 upgrade by holding down the power button.  Tried several methods recommended from online sources and none work.  Tab keeps booting back up.  Ready to do a factory reset.

Try holding volume down + power.

The setting to remap is on the Quick Panel, tap on the power icon, scroll down to power key settings and change the long press to power off.

Oh, is that the issue? Geez, you'd think they'd have a mini tutorial during setup or something.

Thank you to all responders for your replies.

The problem I encountered was on my new Samsung A9+ tablet, not more that a month old to me.

Problem I had came as a result of updating to One UI version: 8.0; Android version 16; Version: X210XXU9EYL4 / X210OXM9EYL4 /.

Under previous versions, I could shut down the tab by pressing and holding the power button at the top of the frame and than clicking on the "Power off" button that appeared on the screen.  With the new version pressing the power button at the top of the frame did not present the screen with the "Power off" button to click on.

After reviewing several of the replies, I dragged down on the upper right hand corner of the screen to open the Quick Panel.  At the very top of that panel on the screen is a power button.  After clicking on that, the familiar screen opened with the "Power off" and "Restart" buttons (as with previous versions). Clicking on the "Power off" button shut down the tablet just as with previous versions.  Hope this simple explanation helps others navigate the new version.

Please have a look to my thread and write, that you have the same problem as we have. At the moment, there is no solution, it's a OneUI 8 bug. So its just a 'Me Too' thread which I referenced already for the Samsung support.

Thanks!

I was told to go to settings/advanced settings/side button/long press and choose power off menu.
