Music will show up at the top in a small pill shape if that function is enabled. It can be clicked on and then it will expand and it can be swiped back toward the top to minimize back into the status bar. But to enable that, a lock screen has to be enabled.
Go to settings/Lock screen and AOD, then setup a lock screen. Then the Now Bar section will be active, click on that then in the "Live notifications" section, expand that, look for the Music Player and enable it. It will show in the status bar once the music player is active and minimized. It will still display even if the lock screen logon is disengaged as long as the music player was enabled.
Samsung should do the opposite of anything apple does. While apple changed the world with the IPhone they are no longer relevant. For the last 8 or 9 years all the innovations are from Samsung.
