Messages suggestion (Theme's Based)

I know this is completely cosmetic, however I can not be the only one who finds it less than appealing when you purchase a theme and because we have all switched to Google messages the theme no longer can be carried all the way through as the creator intended it to be ? 

Especially when some of the Themes you pay up to $5.00 a pop for ? 

Example my theme i recently purchased 

And it also had a fantastic keyboard and background for messaging however I had to create my own ( did the best I could of course) 

Now again I know this is more a Google thing 

But any ideas ?

You should be able to change the icon

As far as Google Messages itself, that's controlled by Google. There are Samsung cues in there, reachability for the top conversation and "text on Galaxy devices". Other than that it's controlled by Google.

Which I am aware that it's a Google issue basically, that is why I wish there is a way they could work together

I would back this 💯, however I think like you previously mentioned it being a Google thing it would need to be on Google's side of things seeing as all of our themes apply sadly to only Samsung things. I truly honestly wish Google would work with Samsung more with the allowing the freedom of customization of things so our themes would carry to more things like you're suggesting.

No, we don't have to move to Google Messages. I never use it, and I never use Google Keyboard. They are third-party apps, so Samsung is not responsible for them.

Ok so.. you say we do not have to move to Google, however I have been told numerous times now they will no longer support Samsung messages and Samsung messaging does not support themes as well. Now I can not say how true this statement is as I have not tried this myself.
Are you able to use themes still?

I don't use google messages or google keyboard, I use samsung messages and keyboard on my phone
