Original Wyze cam video: length 3:29, size 24MB
After trim using Samsung Studio v7.3.01.15: length 3:05, size 376MB
Why the file size increase?

Galaxy S25My guess would be the hidden copy of the original video in order to allow you to revert. I am not sure if the original is saved as part of the edited file, or just a link is established. An edited photo definitely gets smaller, I would imagine it should not be any different with a video. It could also be that the file size reporting is in error. The exponential file size might be because you made several edits and saves. If you don't intend to revert your edited video back to the original, you can get rid of the hidden copy by opening my files, going to manage storage and deleting the hidden originals. You can also avoid having them created by saving your edited video as a copy and then deleting your original or moving the original to a flash drive.

Galaxy S25I used "Save As" so that the original video was not changed.

Galaxy S25Mine was a H.264 video at 2304x1296 resolution at 20fps from a security cam.
Videos recorded from my Galaxy S25 in HEVC encoding at 30fps (UHD and FHD) do decrease in filesize when trimmed.
Might be the H.264 encoding or the 20fps that Studio is not handling well.

Galaxy S25Yes, my video was from the phone itself. I happen to have a Wyse came that I can pull a video from to try.

Galaxy S25Wow. Looks like if the video was not recorded on the phone, the file size increases in editing. I edited 1 minute video from the Wyze Cam SD card. Original video 6.22 M 1920x1080 FHD, 1:00 H264 10fps and the result was 54.12MB 1920x1080 FHD :45 H264 10fps. I think the camera may uses a different video codec than the phone's camera, and the conversion process may add pixels to it. I think the phone's camera may be higher resolution than the Wyze Cam.

Galaxy S25H.264 is more compact/compressed and better suited for streaming.
My Wyze Cam records at higher resolution than S25 FHD, but lower than UHD.
And at lower fps.
