Please consider adding Archive function to Samsung messages, this is the one reason I use google messages over Samsung
To clean clutter from inbox you can Archive, if deleted trash max limit is 30 days, but sometimes we need to keep messages but not keep it in main inbox

If you want archiving, you need to continue to use Google Messages.  Google messages will be the standard going forward.  Samsung is sunsetting their messaging app (painfully slowly), and features will more likely disappear than be added.

I came here to see how to get Samsung Messages on my new Galaxy S23 Ultra as I didn't find it in the apps store, and it's my preferred app. If they're sunsetting it, perhaps that's why I couldn't find it.

Samsung Apps and Services

If you can't find it in the Galaxy store, it's not available for your device. The Galaxy store won't show you anything not usable for your device. There are some versions still available for certain newer phone models (notably the S25 and some S24s).  I suspect it's mainly because Samsung can't bear to actually pull the plug on its "baby", but they are no longer maintaining or adding features to it and many features are no longer working.  You are better off using Google.

@nullandvoid Thanks for your reply. My original Galaxy S23 was water damaged last week, and it won't power back on. It had Samsung Messages on it. But the replacement S23 they sent me does not have it installed, or listed in the Samsung store. I guess I'll get familiar with Google.

Had your phone not been damaged and replaced, you still would have been able to use the app, but it would not be installed on any phone other than the S24/25. If you had temoved it from your original device, it would not be available for reinstall.

It is my understanding that Samsung moving forward will not be adding to Samsung Messages any new features. Rather they will be slowly stripping features from it.

I appreciate you taking the time to comment, but this is meant as Customer feedback to Samsung developer team, I have read a million and one people saying the same, but I see Samsung messages updated few times, and despite back and forth they support RCS if you are not using satellite mode, the only thing is preventing me to use it now is this one feature, and use I am using Google messages and I am very comfortable with Google echo system, but still like Samsung messages better
