How do I delete a stuck reminder?

Hi,

I'm using the Samsung Reminder app (version 12.5.04.3) on Android 14 and there's a single reminder that keeps popping up once a week, even though I already deleted it a couple of weeks ago. The problem is that it doesn't show up in any of the categories (completed, deleted,...) and I also can't find it in the regular Calendar app.

Whenever the reminder pops up, there's only an "X" and a button to remind me again in x minutes but there's no "complete" checkmark. I already tried setting it to remind me again in 10 minutes but it didn't.

The Galaxy Store page says that there's an update for the app (March 19th, 12.6.00.39) but it doesn't show up on my phone and the app itself also says that it's up-to-date.

How do I get rid of this annoying reminder (I don't want to lose my current ones!)?

Delete the cache and data from the Reminder app. I don't think you will lose the reminders you currently have, but it is a possibility if you didn't turn "sync with Samsung Cloud" on.  You can turn sync on before you delete the data.  Deleting data from an app only deletes customizations, not anything input into the app.

No, it's not on, I'd rather not store my stuff in the cloud. Is there another way to back up my reminders?

You can turn the sync off after you delete the data.  You can also sync with Microsoft.  I don't know about any other way to back up reminders, but then, I don't use the reminder app and I am not afraid of the cloud.  You could probably use smart switch and selectively back up certain apps or make a complete backup of your phone to a computer, external hard drive or flash drive.  Do you have so many reminders that you cannot recreate them if they disappear?

I'd rather not use any company's cloud for my personal data, no matter if it's Samsung or Microsoft.

How do you restore the backup for just Reminder? I usually only use Smart Switch for a full backup, not just single apps.

Yes, I've got quite a few and writing them down, then creating them again would take a while.

If I only clear the cache, is that still going to get rid of all reminders?

Using smart switch, you can selectively backup restore apps an data the same way you would do a full backup and restore. As I said, deleing the app data should not delete your reminders, it would just unstick whatever is keeping the ghost of reminders past from departing.
