Hi all

I'm running the one ui 7 beta 2 on a galaxy s24 and my phone sometimes several times a day will start blinking like a turn signal several times in a row before it finally reboots itself. And because of the constant blinking there's no way to manually restart it so I have to wait until it finally stops blinking and reboots by itself. Anyone else having this issue with the one ui 7 beta 2? And if so what fixes it? Or am I stuck with waiting until they decide to release beta 3?

Turns out you're correct and the other evening even though the face recognition is off it did it while I was about to unlock my phone to use the calculator. I have diabetes so I needed to use the calculator immediately to calculate my carbohydrates so I waited for it to restart and then immediately used the calculator and forgot to send in the error report with log file. Oh well hopefully when one UI 7 Stable releases this issue will get solved. At least it's not as often though as it was in Beta 2

Things you can also do, that don't include factory reset, you can run a diagnostic thru samsung members app outside of beta, try and reset your settings data and apps in general management, just don't tap factory reset

In the meantime since beta 3 hasn't come out yet, please also send beta feedback so Samsung can log why or what is making your phone reboot

Try a wipe cache partition before a factory reset
Be sure to back up your phone before a factory reset.

Try booting your phone into safe mode and see if it behaves itself in that configuration.

Won't a lot of things not work in safe mode?

Third-party, non-Samsung software will be restricted from running in safe mode, but that being the case, you will know if it's third-party software causing your problem.

Hello,

Thank you for your participation in Beta program.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience with your current situation (unable to backup on Smartswitch, submitting error report via Members channel, unable to factory data reset, inability to rollback to One UI 6.1.1...). Due to the possible "instability" of the Beta software, we always try to inform our participants to backup the data in case these kinds of criticial issues occur during the Beta program.

You can still try to back up your current data to either Samsung or Google cloud without depending on the Smart Switch app, and try to factory data reset your device, as this is the best "solution" to resolve your current rebooting issue after several flashing.

There are numerous reasons that your device may be undergoing this issue (multiple system apps crashing due to ineligibility in One UI 7 version, optimization...etc).

Although it is painful to wait until Beta 3 (possible fix), we kindly ask you to try the Factory Data Reset (or clear cache from safe mode) after backing up your data on cloud as a best temporary solution for now.

Steps to Wipe Cache:

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Power button.
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. An 'Installing system update' message may show briefly before the Android Recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight Wipe cache partition.
6. Press Side key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight Yes, then press the Side key to select.
8. When the process is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Side key to restart the device.

I'll probably do this if this keeps happening although I'd much rather wait and download beta 3 if I can and not possibly lose all my data and pray that the blinking and rebooting doesn't brick my phone. I never thought of the idea that my apps may be causing this since obviously they may not be compatible with one ui7 yet. Anyway as long as it doesn't brick my phone I'll try to deal with it until beta 3 is released. Thank you very much for helping and Happy New Year 2025
