I have a 2023 Frame and a great collection of old DVDs. I've tried both Sony and Panasonic DVD players, but can't get the TV to recognize, let alone play a DVD. The TV says "HDMI Cable: No Signal." I've tried all HDMI ports, different HDMI cables, and all DVD players and cables have been tested on a slighter older Sony 4K tv. I've read online that others have had the same issue. I think this is a Samsung update issue as I remember playing a DVD on the Frame in 2023.

QLED and The Frame TVs1. Turn on the DVD player before turning on the TV. Sometimes The Frame doesn’t detect the signal properly unless the source is active first.
2. Try manually switching to the HDMI input instead of relying on auto-detection. Go to Settings > Source > HDMI1/2/3/etc. and select it directly.
3. Turn off HDMI-CEC (Anynet+) in the TV’s settings under General > External Device Manager. In some cases, Anynet+ causes handshake issues with older devices.
4. Check resolution output on the DVD player. If your DVD player is set to output in 480i or 480p only, The Frame might not recognize it correctly. Try switching it to 720p or 1080i/p if available.
5. Lastly, if it worked before and suddenly stopped, you may be right — it could be due to a firmware update. It might help to report it via Samsung Members > Get Help > Error Reports so they can track the issue.
Hopefully this gets you back to watching your DVDs. Let us know if any of the above helps.

QLED and The Frame TVsThanks for those suggestions. I just tried them all to no avail. Seems like a handoff issue due to a Samsung firmware update that happened sometime back in 2023 or 2024. I'll submit an error report.

QLED and The Frame TVsI spent about an hour with Samsung tech support and we were unable to resolve the issue. I think it's a Samsung update issue around the handshake. We tried resetting the TV, tried a few other things, and same old story. Samsung, please address in a future update.
