Recover messages

I accidentally deleted a family member's Messages thread. How do I recover it before it becomes permanent (30 days)?

I recommend trying Settings (main phone settings) > Accounts and Backup > Restore (under cloud backup). Then select your device and it will let you choose "messages" (uncheck the rest). It MIGHT pull them back.
