Here’s my old setup: Apple TV 4th gen. (Not 4k)

Samsung HW-hm45 Sound Bar

Vizio E422vleI

Now I have all the same stuff except I switched to a Samsung UN55EH6000F 55" TV.

Here’s my issue- with the Vizio tv, I could turn my Apple TV on and it would turn on my tv and sound bar and I could change the volume with the remote of the Apple TV. It all worked perfectly running hdmi signal using the pass through feature of the sound bar. After switching to this supposedly “$1300” (back in the day) tv, it cannot do that. It will not turn on or off with the Apple TV remote using all of the cec functions. According to the manual, it has anynet plus which is supposed to be its own version of cec. It’s now connected to a Samsung sound which you would think would work perfectly together. So what am I missing?

I just want to be able to control the tv power and sound bar power with the one Apple TV remote as well as the volume of the sound bar just like I could do with my old vizio TV. I am seriously starting to hate Samsung TV's. They are just as dumb as their phones.

Update- I can get the Apple TV to turn the tv on and off but only sporadically and only when it is directly connected to the TV and not going through the sound bar.

I did in fact try power cycling. I also updated the firmware of the TV.

You usually have to pair the remote with the new TV.

No. That’s not how CEC works.
