KitchenHi everyone,
I changed the filter on my Samsung 3 door fridge
RF30BB6200QL
and it will not dispense water. It is making a very loud humming noise and water is not dispensing. I changed the filter with an authentic Samsung filter and spent the extra money so that is not the issue. Can anyone please help? Thank you!

KitchenTake the filter out, then re-seat it in the holder. Make sure you push it in tightly as you are rotating it. You should feel resistance as you do it. Since you tried to dispense water from it, check your fridge floor to make sure that water is not pooling. If the filter is not seated correctly, it will leak all over the place, this is especially a problem if you have an ice maker, as when the icemaker calls for water, water will dispense all over your refrigerator, out the doors and onto your floors. Not a big problem if there's no icemaker.

KitchenUnfortunately I’ve been trying at this for hours at this point, trying to put it in the correct position, etc.. At one point I got a little bit of water to go into the container but still heard the very loud humming like it’s trying to pump water. This is then shortly followed by a cut of sound. It’ll keep trying until I turn off the dispenser as I don’t want to burn it up.

KitchenIt's possible that when you removed the old filter one of the washers was left in the filter housing and is blocking the new filter from going in properly, or you damaged the connector in some way removing the old filter. If you are hearing a pumping noise, it's possible there's a kink in the water line leading to the chamber, and perhaps the filter was seated correctly all along. However, if you had water flowing with the old filter, I doubt that would be the case. Don't try to force anything, as you don't want to do any damage to either the (expensive) filter or the filter housing. I'd call for service.
