Dear Samsung and Community Members:

The autorelease function on our dishwasher is working correctly; however, when the door opens to vent it now opens to about 75 degrees -- almost flush with the floor.  It has always opened only partially -- perhaps to 30 degrees or so.  Is there an adjustment that we can make to the door hinges to resolve this issue?

Many thanks for the help,

Mike Konstantino

Hello, there could be a few factors on why you are expecting this with your unit. The unit has springs attach to the dishwasher door things to keep the door from opening too far, if you have been manually opening the door more than 75 degrees there is a possibility that the springs are used to that. Check the hinges and springs to make sure that they are not damaged.

Another thing to think about is making sure that the unit is leveled. Proper leveling will help to prevent leaks and other performance issues. For best results, the dishwasher needs to be level both vertically and horizontally. See the link below to ensure that your unit is properly leveled.

If you confirmed that the unit is leveled and the door springs along with the hinges are undamaged then below are a few service options for you.

- If your unit was recently purchased, you can check with your retailer on their return/exchange processes.

- If you have an extended warranty you can reach out to them to have service set up.

- If you're within the one year warranty, you can private message one of our moderators with your full model and serial number to have service set up. http://bit.ly/33ipYnO

- If the unit is out of warranty, you can use the following link below to request service or contact our phone support line at 1-800-Samsung to have service set up for you:
