Once again, the manual is referring to a cooktop not on my stove. It says:

The Induction Cooking Zones require that you use pots and pans of a minimum size or larger at each location. The inner ring of each Cooking Zone is your guide to the correct minimum pan size. The pan bottom must fully cover the inner ring for proper cooking to occur. • The thicker outer ring at each Cooking Zone is helpful to determine the maximum pan size. After centering the cookware on the cooktop, make sure the cookware does not extend more than 1/2" beyond the thicker line on the Cooking Zone. The pan must fully contact the glass surface without the bottom of the pan touching the metal cooktop trim.

My burners have a single ring. I got the minimum pan sizes listed a little later on the page, but wonder about maximum pan size. My thought is no more than 1/2 inch beyond the ring. The single representing the 'thicker outer ring' mentioned.

Samsung support, can you clarify, please?

Hello OldLadyWho, that is a great question and referencing our article here https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00045483/ the proper size is also important. If your cook top has multiple burners of different sizes, then your cookware's size should match the burner you're using it on. Some elements are dual or triple burners (depending on the model) so they can accommodate 2 or 3 sizes. I hope this helps you with your inquiry.

Nope, did not help at all. Cookware comes in all sizes and the burners are in 3 different sizes. The manual is clear about minimum sizes, but not maximum. I will assume no more than 1/2" over the ring.
