It is possible to make high capacity batteries. Shrinking them down to an ergonomic size is what's not currently possible. That size reduction would require a 10x increase in energy density.

That thing is an inch and a quarter thick and has less than half of the capacity you're talking about.

I think you're missing the point. With current battery technology, in order to make a device with the battery capacity you're talking about, it would have be 3-4 inches thick. Is that seriously what you'd like to see?
