Why can I not connect the blood pressure option in Samsung Health? If this feature can be side loaded, and other companies have this on their devices, i and other customers should have no issues getting this to work. Just because we are in the US does not mean we should be left in the dark It says on the website for Health Connect "1. The Blood Pressure app should not be used for any diagnostic purposes regarding hypertension or other heart conditions. The Blood Pressure app is not meant to replace traditional methods of diagnosis or treatment by a qualified healthcare professional." Nobody in their right would would think that your software or devices are a replacement for an actual blood pressure reading. These are not medical devices, they are tools to assist with our health monitoring. So explain to me why, we spend good money to remain loyal to Samsung, when your competition is outperforming you on this sector. This is making me second guess my future purchases. Even though I cannot stand Apple, even they are offering better health results. I would like this remedied, as tracking my health is a VERY important aspect in my life, and other customers as well.

This is the reply from their support agent, "We understand that you are excited to use the Blood Pressure Measurement Feature. However, we would like to inform you that at this time, there are no plans to release the Blood Pressure Feature in the USA."

Your question is a great question. However, it posed to the wrong entity. All questions as to why the FDA will not approve BP monitoring on watches should be directed at the FDA. Samsung has no choice but to abide by what is authorized or not. The FDA is funded to the tune of 50% from user fees from the corporations they regulate, mainly pharmaceuticals and device manufacturers, blood pressure cuff manufacturers being the ones to loose the most if the FDA approved watches. That industry is worth $750 million a year.

I concur and the FDA sent me database links and still waiting to see if anything will show up there.

Never buy a device in anticipation of a feature being activated. It's been known for years that even though the watches are capable, the feature was not available in the US. If the feature is important to you, and the primary reason for purchase, make sure it's functional before buying a device. If you were going to buy it anyway, then the activation of the feature is a bonus.

Samsung does not owe it to you to activate it. Some features are never meant for the US, even though available in other countries.
