I've searched for this and can't find it anywhere. While wearing the watch, all of a sudden the sensor will be lit up red, then yellow/orange, then go away like normal. There's no notification about it and I can't figure out why it's happening. It freaks me out like something bad is happening or it's battery is getting low, but there's no other indication of anything happening. Anyone have any experience with this?

Those are the sensors in active use.  You really shouldn't see them light up unless your watch is too loose or you are in a dark space.  If you have your watch set to measure certain vitals continuously, you wouldn't necessarily see them constantly, but may every few minutes.  If you have it set to measure at intervals, you might see them (if you happen to be looking) at the interval point that they measure.  This is normal behavior.  In order to measure your vitals reliably, your watch must be snug - meaning there is no play for it to move around, not necessarily tight.  If it's snug enough you shouldn't see the sensor lights at all unless you are in the dark.  The different colors are different sensors.

I wish it could utilize those lights to read my vitals through my tattoos. 😮

Lasers can only do so much. Because the sensors are light based, it cannot oenetrate the dark tattoos or thick pigments. What color do you think your veins are? The lasers cannot tell the difference between ink and veins
