Water lock shouldn't be an option for activation in modes and routines.

Galaxy WatchThere is a workout routine for snorkeling and for open water swim. When you turn on these workouts, water lock engages automatically. If you have auto detect workouts on, even if you don't turn a workout on, the water lock will engage within 10 minutes.
The purpose of the water lock is *not* to prevent water from getting into your watch, it is to prevent the screen from being activated with your arm movements in the water, thus killing the battery (They should more accurately call it screen lock). Turning the water lock off uses sound waves to clear the watch of any residual water to prevent corrosion. Water lock engages automatically when a water workout is active.
So, there is no real need to add water lock as an action for a mode. Routines do not apply to the watch, only modes and workouts do.
You can set everything from the watch. Why do you think you have to do everything on your phone and watch separately? What you set on your watch carries to the phone and vice-versa (except for things like screen brightness). Some settings are only on the watch. If you start your workout from the phone, the watch will follow. You can set water lock independently of an exercise on the watch by pulling down the quick panel on the watch and scrolling to the water lock (but you don't need to do that if you are setting a workout). Rearrange your quick panel to put the water lock on the first panel for easy access.

Galaxy WatchI am aware you can get to it from settings. Its jow I use it now. But it requires like 5 extra steps when you include turn it on then back off. One routine i can run from the watch would be more efficient.

Galaxy WatchRoutines don't apply to watches, except for the aforementioned limited ones. Turning water lock off via routine is impractical as turning off water lock creates a sonic wave that blows out water droplets - it requires the button press for this action. How can it possibly take you 5 extra steps to turn on water lock? Pull down the watch control panel (I keep the water lock on the first panel, so it's right there), tap the water lock - boom, it's on. Turning it off takes even less steps - press the power button, then press and hold. If you need water lock on for something, just turn it on, it's not inconvenient and takes half a second.
If you are not a programmer, you don't really know what's easy and what is not. It's incorporated into the water exercises, because it's a necessity for those exercises - basically programmed into the exercise itself. As I said, the watch it water resistant, the only thing water lock does is lock your screen so the water motion does not keep activating it and pushes the excess water out of the housing.
Also, if you want to make a feature request, you have to send feedback directly to the development team via the feedback link in the support tab of the members app. The developers do not read these forums as it is a peer-to-peer help forum, not a direct communication to Samsung.
