Just spent an hour on the treadmill, and thanks to a previous injury, I have to hold on to the rails sometimes. Watch literally counted less than a quarter of the time there and less than a 3rd of the distance.

If I manually enter it, I don't get any of the advanced stats, like my heartrate. All I can find are posts from a couple of years ago. Am I missing something or has Samsung just not added that option?

Unfortunately, treadmills are tricky because of the fact that distances and steps are counted by arm movement with the watches.  If you want the advanced stats, you will have to keep the workout as recorded. You do have the ability to add notes to your workout.  If you want the correct(ish) distance and steps, you might have better results with keeping your phone in your pocket and using the phone for your workout, as it will measure the hip movement, while the watch captures the vitals - the health app will combine the measurements in the workout results.  I no longer use a treadmill for just this reason - I must hold onto the rails. At least an elliptical trainer will measure the arm movements. But, then, for me I don't care about the steps and distance only duration and vitals.

Also, send feedback to the developers, asking for the editing feature.https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/How-to-Send-Feedback/ba-p/3001692

Yeah. No way to manually update. Best I can tell you to do is to file a feedback through the app. Maybe if the engineers get enough inquiries they may release something, but I highly doubt it. Coming from Apple Health Android Health and SHealth is nothing more than an afterthought and feels like they had to do something to compete with Apple. It's really put a kink in my fitness logging and tracking.

There's also the option of finding a third party app to use to record but good luck with synching the SHealth and if you do getting everything to synch properly.
