Hello everyone,

I am writing to bring attention to the ongoing regional lockout of the Samsung Health Monitor app in Puerto Rico. As many of you know, Puerto Rico is a US territory, and all medical devices sold here fall under the jurisdiction of the FDA.

Despite the Galaxy Watch8 being marketed with ECG monitoringโ€”features that have been cleared by the FDA for the USโ€”users in Puerto Rico are blocked from using them because of their mobile network provider. This is a significant disadvantage for loyal Samsung users in the Caribbean.

Samsung needs to update its region verification to include Puerto Rico as part of the US region for health services. Has anyone found an official response or a timeline for when this will be resolved for the island?

Edited to point out only ECG has been aproved and the SHM is blocked

Only the ECG feature has been cleared by the FDA. Blood pressure monitoring is awaiting clearance and is not currently available in the US or its territories.

You can submit feedback to Samsung to make them aware of the ECG availability issue. Visit the Support tab in this app and navigate to "Send feedback. "
