Galaxy WatchThe new One UI 8 Watch brings some great quality of life improvements, but many users miss the older notification style where the phone stayed silent while the watch handled alerts. The current setup where either the phone takes priority or both devices notify can be frustrating, especially for those who rely on the watch for discreet alerts. Hopefully, Samsung considers bringing back the smarter notification handling in future updates. Just like smart notifications make life easier. like FIFO airport transfers Perth services that run smoothly in the background.

Galaxy WatchOh, did they change that? I have always left the notifications sound/appear on my phone. My watch is silent - always. The vibration on the watch is enough for me to know I have a notification. My personal preference is for my watch to make no sound at all. It would disappoint me, though, if the notifications did not come to my watch at all just because my phone is unlocked. It's the whole reason I got the watch. If you don't like the change, I suggest sending feedback to the development team via the feedback link in the support tab of the Members app. The more feedback they get, the more likely they are to make adjustments. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/How-to-Send-Feedback/ba-p/3001692

Galaxy WatchThose are the selections? It seems to me there should be one more - "show notifications on watch only when on wrist". I mean, it's fine for me as it is, but not the OP.

Galaxy WatchWell, according to the smart device selection, that will still be the case. If your phone is on, or you are using it, notifications will go to the phone. I prefer to have them on both, since I am not always near my phone. The whole point of the watch is to get the notifications when the phone is in your pocket, bag or you are not near it. I like having it on the phone, as well, so If I remember that I have a notification that I have to interact with when I have the phone back in my hand. I guess, in the end, all that really matters s one gets the notifications.
