Galaxy WatchThank you for reaching out. I can certainly understand your concern with not being able to use your Samsung SoFi card with your Galaxy watch 6 classic. In order to add your SoFi card to your Galaxy watch give these steps a try:
- Press and hold the back button on your Samsung Watch to lunch Samsung Wallet
- Swipe left to read through the directions, and tap the arrow to begin
- Tap ‘More options’ (ellipses) and tap the + sign above ‘Add card’
- If you haven’t already you will be prompted to set up a lock on your watch, follow onscreen prompts to complete the process
- Tap ‘Add payment card’
- You will have the option to take a photo of your card to automatically scan the information or tap ‘Add card manually’ to enter the information by hand
- Tap Agree to all terms
If you have tried these steps and are still experiencing these symptoms, I would recommend giving this link a try for more information: https://support.sofi.com/hc/en-us/articles/14636804634381-Samsung-Pay-How-to-connect-a-SoFi-Credit-C...

Galaxy WatchHere’s a breakdown of what’s likely happening and what you can try:
---
Why the Samsung by SoFi Card Won’t Transfer to the Galaxy Watch6
1. Samsung Wallet on Watch6 uses a different security framework
The Galaxy Watch6 series (running Wear OS) handles Samsung Wallet differently than Tizen-based watches like the GW3.
Even though it’s still called “Samsung Wallet,” the payment tokenization process is stricter, and not all cards are fully supported yet on the Wear OS version, even if they work on phones or older watches.
2. Samsung by SoFi card may lack full token provisioning support on Wear OS Wallet
The card provider (SoFi, in this case) may not have completed full wearable certification with Samsung’s Wallet for Wear OS.
This happens more often than it should — a Samsung-branded card isn’t guaranteed to work across all Samsung platforms unless the partner has followed through with provisioning steps.
3. Samsung Pay for Wear OS is still catching up
Some cards and banks that worked perfectly on the Galaxy Watch3 (Tizen) are still incompatible or partially supported on the new system.
This includes some co-branded cards like the Samsung by SoFi.
---
What You Can Try
1. Check Card Eligibility on the Watch (Not Just the Phone)
Go to your phone's Samsung Wallet app > Menu > Payment Cards
Select the Samsung by SoFi card
Tap More options > Check for compatible devices
If the Watch6 doesn’t appear as a supported device, the token can't be pushed to it.
2. Try Re-adding from Watch Wallet Setup
On your Watch6: Open Samsung Wallet
Tap Set up payment
Try adding the SoFi card directly from the watch, not just transferring from the phone
3. Contact SoFi Support (Not Just Samsung)
Ask if the Samsung by SoFi card is certified for use with Samsung Wallet on Wear OS watches
Mention specifically: “Galaxy Watch6 Classic LTE on Wear OS, not Tizen”
If they can’t confirm that, then Samsung Wallet will continue to block the transfer for security reasons
---
Unfortunately, Here's the Bottom Line
Right now, even though it's a Samsung-branded card, Samsung by SoFi isn’t fully provisioned for Samsung Wallet on Galaxy Watch6 (Wear OS) — even though it works fine on the phone and older watches.
Yes, that’s frustrating — and no, it shouldn’t be like that. This is a gap between Samsung, SoFi, and their wearable wallet infrastructure. And you're right to expect more, especially after buying an LTE watch to leave your phone behind.
---
What You Can Do Now
Submit feedback through the Samsung Members app > Get Help > Suggestions
Say clearly:
> "Samsung by SoFi card does not transfer to Samsung Wallet on Galaxy Watch6 Classic. Worked fine on GW3. This is a Samsung-branded card and should be fully supported on Samsung’s own wearable platform. Please escalate this to the Wallet team."
Ask SoFi to raise the issue internally as well — if enough users push from both ends, this can get escalated.
---
Let me know if you want help drafting a message to Samsung or SoFi. You’ve done everything right — now it’s time they do too.
