Galaxy S25

Good morning,

I would like to know why we allow Samsung to use the word Ultra on its device when we know it's not true. I've been a Samsung user for over a decade.and watched innovation go out the window! Expandable memory, IR blaster, Iris scanner, live messages etc....gone! Why????? They say innovation, I thought innovation was a way to keep those things and incorporate new things to make it work. I've said it before and I'll say it again.....if I wanted an IPhone I would buy one. They took expandable memory and we complained and we got it back. They took it away again and we took it. Our S pen has been dumbed down abd we took it! The Note was the King of the hill and we allowed them to incorporate it into the S series......why??? I understand the business side of things, but Samsung was about innovation!!!!!! Not this thing that it has become. Charging brick gone (Following Apple). Other companies are still giving you a charging brick. I believe Samsung is still the best, but if this keeps up I'll try one of the other competitors to see where they are. The company should listen to there customers! Some customers not using something doesn't mean all are not using it. Also Samsung needs to advertise what there products can do . There are customers who have no idea what their devices are capable of.
Please get back to innovation Samsung your better than that!

Why we *allow*?  Samsung, or any manufacturer, can name their devices anything they want.   If you think the designation is a misnomer, and you find Samsung lacking for your purposes and/or the price you are willing to pay, choose something else.

It's not about that. It's about getting back to true innovation. Not just a few improvements and saying look what we did. To me that's how Apple treats there customers.

Everything you said is understood, but they use Ultra like Apple uses Pro Max. The Pro Max has features the others do not. I am fully aware that I can go anywhere else and can do so, but as I said in my post I like Samsung and would like to see them start really innovating again, not just a few improvements.

That would require a gigantic shift at Samsung. This is no longer the Samsung that innovates and takes risks. The current structure prioritizes profit and only profit.

No, they actually use Ultra to indicate it's the top of the line device in the S25 series.  It doesn't have to be innovative to be top of the line, it just has to have better specs and maybe some features that the others in the series do not have. Once again, they can name a product anything they want.

The freedom to use your own charger has always existed. If you needed a vehicle charger or more than one wall charger, you had to buy them yourself. OEMs are now forcing you to do that while cutting their own costs.

What do you mean by, "The experience can only be ruined by updates...?" Your statement about using one's judgement to decide whether to install updates is misleading. A user can postpone updates only for a short time. OS updates are not optional and will eventually install themselves, whether the user wants them or not. Also, I don't consider Tupac to be a reliable source of tech information.

It's not that I don't like the name, it's that Ultra to me indicates you have things the others don't. That's not the case here.

The Ultra moniker simply indicates the highest end device in a particular lineup and in no way suggests that the device must retain every legacy feature ever introduced.

Every major company removes experimental features after they fail to gain traction in the industry or are superceded by new tech. We wouldn't suggest, for example, that HP shouldn't call the Elitebook "Elite" because it lacks a disk drive.

As for accessories included in the box, it's a bummer, but has a lot to do with EU ewaste compliance (EU mandates unbundling as an option, manufacturers simplify logistics by making unbundled units the default.)

The only companies I am aware of that still include chargers in the box are Chinese brands that use specialized proprietary cables and charging bricks like supervooc.
