Galaxy S25Basic battery protection just means your battery will charge fully, but be prevented from overcharging (charging will stop when the battery is full and resume when the power level drops below 95%). Unless you are watching every minute of your battery charge cycle you will not notice when the power drops and charging resumes.
Adaptive battery protection will only charge to 80% while you are asleep (I assume with sleep mode on - or it just decides what normal sleep hours are).
Maximum will only charge your battery to 80%, and not resume charging. I am unsure whether it resumes charging if it goes below 80%..
I, personally, keep battery protection off and fully charge my phone every night, with no ill effects. The battery still stops charging when full, and my phone is at 100% each morning. I assume that even with battery protection off, basic battery protection is *still* always in effect.

Galaxy S25For example, if I leave my phone charging overnight, itโs really bad for the battery when the phone keeps receiving power after itโs already at 100%. Thatโs where the โBasic Battery Protectionโ feature comes in โ when the phone reaches 100%, it automatically stops charging, and then the battery starts to drop. When it gets to 95%, the phone starts charging again, so that when I wake up or unplug it, the battery is at 100%. But this feature doesnโt work โ the phone keeps receiving power even when itโs already at 100%.

Galaxy S25I regret buying this phone, my next phone won't be a samsung that is for sure, I can't believe that a simple but crucial function is not working.

Galaxy S25@Theo5620 it does work but just not the way you are thinking. Read this. I tried this and it works as mentioned.

Galaxy S25@JeepGuy95 this is about basic protection not maximum protection. Basic protection allows charging to 100% and then keeps it there unless the battery utilisation exceeds and then let's it fall to 95%.
Maximum protection limits the charging to a specified percentage like 80,85,90,95.
The two things are different
