I understand you want the new features available in UI 8.5 without having to wait for the stable release. However, Samsung does not *need* to offer public beta program access to every device in their massive lineup, nor would it be beneficial for development to do so.

It has nothing to do with being "tech savvy" and everything to do with 1) scope and 2) financial investment.

1) Samsung has the broadest lineup of devices in the industry with phones available at virtually every price point. Opening beta programs to every device in the lineup would be untenable. Beta forums would be flooded and the dev team would be absolutely underwater. Software release schedules exist for a reason: simultaneous development for 20+ different devices would be overwhelming,to say the least.

2) Initial Betas are typically only offered to the current iteration of the standard S series as these users currently have the most financial skin in the game. In other words, if you want access to the latest and greatest software, you'll need to pay for the latest and greatest hardware.

At the end of the day, as a "tech savvy" person, you will be aware that the A1X series are among the lowest-tier devices in Samsung's lineup, designed only to be basic communication devices. Because you are using a device approximately 1/10th of the price of the flagship line, you should be aware there are certain sacrifices that come at this price point - this is one of them.

The betas need to test all the advanced bells and whistles.  Since the budget series don't get those features, there's no need to beta test on them.  If the basic features work on the high end, they will no doubt work on the low end.  It does not matter how tech savvy you are, as a matter of fact, it's probably better for the beta tests to be a mixture of tech savvy and tech illiterate.

Bottom line is if you want to beta test, you need the latest model high end phone.

A series phones never get betas. Even if A series phones were eligible for betas, most certainly A1x phones would never be included.

I look at it this way, let the expensive device have at it first. Let them get the bugs worked out, let them have their phones get bricked should things go terribly wrong. If I had a budget phone because that is all I can afford and it got bricked by beta software I would be devastated should I have to go buy a new device or go to a service center to have the device fixed.

I had used beta programs and NEVER got a bricked phone.

But, the potential still exists for it.  Beta testers are always taking a risk that something will mess up their phones.

You are missing my point , I haven't had a problem with a bricked device ever, it can happen.

**bleep** I switched from my one plus 13r to this S25 edge and all the other S25 models are getting beta updates. Just not the S25 edge. Mean while my one plus 13r is still getting updates. I got to say I feel like switching back to my one plus. Samsung step up your game. Can them money I paid for this S25 edge is a lot but I don't feel like I upgraded.
