Galaxy S25I have a one year old BMW SUV. I was using my old iPhone for the last year and a digital key in Apple Wallet for use with my car. I replaced my iPhone with an S25 a month ago. I have been struggling ever since to create a digital key in the Wallet App on the S25.
I have checked Samsung and BMW's websites - and the phone/car are compatible. The Samsung Wallet App on the S25 actually has a menu item to create a digital key for my car. When I try to use it, however, it fails to create a digital key.
I have tried to delete the cache on the phone and in the car. I have deleted the data on the phone and the car. I have deleted and reinstalled the Wallet App and the car management app. I have rebooted the car's computer.
No matter what steps I have taken the outcome is the same - an error screen appears on the phone:
I have called tech support multiple times I have followed their advice (delete/reinstall, reboot, delete data, etc.). So far nothing has worked.
This morning I called Samsung again and 'Jeremy' told me to talk to my local Samsung repair shop. I am waiting for a call back but I looked the business up and it is a repair shop for physical issues (mostly, I think).
Can anyone help me? It seems I need high level tech support from Samsung but can't get beyond the first level.
The one thread on this site on this topic does not appear to have a solution.

Galaxy S25I appreciate you taking the time to respond. It did not help, however. The link is to BMW's web page 'how to set it up' and use it. I have a more fundamental problem in that the S25 will not allow the creation of the digital key in the wallet app. The article in the link does not address errors and/or how to resolve failures to create a digital key. Thank you for trying.

Galaxy S25You will not be able to create a BMW DIGITAL KEY unless you do , be prepared to provide proof of ownership.
Go to BMW dealership or locksmith for a fee they will do it for you.
BMW Dealership or locksmith will require proof of ownership to make a Digital Key for you and charge a fee.
There is nothing wrong with your Samsung Galaxy Phone.

Galaxy S25Hello and thanks again for your time. I am sorry I am inarticulate and haven't explained the problem I am having very well...
I know that the only way to create a digital key is using the BMW app. I bought my car new a year ago. I successfully created digital keys for it on my old iPhone 14 using the BMW app. I easily created a digital key for my wife on her iPhone too. My wife and I successfully used the digital keys on our phones for the last year.
It was trying to replace my iPhone with the S25 that I hit a brick wall and suffered repeated failures.
All the issues I am having are due to the Galaxy S25 failing when the same BMW app I have been using daily for a year is unable to create and add the digital key to the Samsung Wallet on the new S25.
I don't believe a locksmith will be able to help.
I also now have heard from BMW tech people, with who I have spent countless hours emailing, providing screen shots, data, etc. in an effort to resolve the problem with Samsung's device.
The brand new Galaxy S25 phone is incompatible with the digital key technology.
Of course Samsung represented that all Android devices running version 13 and higher for compatible vehicles will work. My new S25 supposedly meets all the criteria - it has the right Android version, my car make and model are listed as compatible, etc.
Thus far I have gotten nowhere with the people at Samsung support. I have, in fact, gotten wildly inconsistent advice (like the last call where 'Jeremy' suggested I contact a repair facility).
I posted here in the hopes that someone would be able to help me resolve this problem.
I appreciate you trying but this is an issue that someone with higher up chops at Samsung needs to look into.

Galaxy S25Hey,
I got the same error for my 2024 M440i multiple times, but finally I succeded to pair my S23 Ultra with the car. What I think did the trick is setting Samsung Wallet as default payment option instead of Google Pay. After I set up the digital key I switched back to Google Pay and the key still worked.

Galaxy S25Did you ever get this figured out? I had a digital key setup on my Fold 6 on my old Kia EV9, but when I got a new EV9 I have been unable to add it back and get that same error message with no details to help troubleshoot. I even got a new phone and it still won't work.
