Oh, that's the favorites bar, or quick row. What is in that space appears on every home page, so that you can access it regardless what page you are on. One normally puts their most used apps there so they don't have to keep shuttling from screen to screen to use those apps. With Good Lock's Home Up you can add up to 9 icons and you can also create folders there by stacking the app icons, if you need to put more there. You can also use edge panels and add the app edge so that you can quickly slide out the apps you use most and then it's out of the way and not taking up space on your screen. The edge panel setting can be found in settings/display/edge panels then you would tap the "panels" section and select your panels. Once you select the panel, you add the apps you want to it.
