I am trying to set up a specific ringtone for a dedicated email address. I found instructions on how to accomplish this by going to the desktop and creating a label. That part worked great. Then is gives directions to go to the phones settings with about 5 steps. I got 3 or 4 steps in and it asks to pick a ringtone. That option is not available on my S25 Ultra? So, I'm dead in the water.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thank you so much.

Have you turned on Manage Notification categories in advanced settings of Notifications?

To do this, go to settings, notifications, advanced settings, on the bottom will be Manage notification categories, toggle it on.

I did get to that section, and it is on. It is after this that the opyions needed are not on my phone. What are the steps as you know them.

Thank you

I don't know, I've never tried to give a specific email a tone.

I only know of settings a separate ringtone for vip emails. I don't believe you can set individual ringtone for each email address

Do you mean that I can set 1 email address as a VIP? It is only 1 address that I NEED a specific tone so I never miss it. If so, how do I set it as a VIP?

Thanks

If you want a ringtone only when an email from one person arrives:

In Gmail web (on computer) set up a filter for that sender, apply a label (e.g., “Boss”).

On your phone, go back into Gmail app Settings, your account, Manage labels, select that label (e.g., “Boss”), Sync messages and set a unique sound.

That way, only mail from that person triggers the special ringtone.

Hopefully this works if you use Gmail.

The above was in my head, I didn't actually try it. I tried setting it up to see if it actually works. So far I don't see how a selected sound can be set and I'm still testing the other portion of it. If it works I will use it too.

Different email accounts have different settings as does Samsung smartphones. I cannot find a way to create a different sound for an Gmail email address separate from the account sound. As for a VIP in Gmail, is to create a label for which doesn't solve the issue of a separate sound.
