How do I turn this feature off? It automatically overprocesses all my photos. And in the settings it seems to only allow me to 'reduce' the feature.

It's a pain to buy a phone for a decent camera just to have AI ruin all the photos anyway

If using "photo" mode, the most you can do is reduce optimization to minimum. In order to not have it at all, you will have to use "pro" mode.

Alternatively, you can download the Expert RAW camera from the Galaxy Store.

Pro mode still does it in my photos app. I can see it happen in real times in my gallery

Try using @Mujibar advice: disable the Scene Optimizer in the camera settings, choose minimum for intelligent optimization, or shoot in Pro Mode for more natural results without AI enhancements the adjustments significantly reduce or bypass automatic optimization.

AI Overview

Yes, One UI 8.5 (and even earlier versions like One UI 7/8) features a "Super HDR" setting, which is a dynamic way for Samsung to manage HDR content, making highlights pop and enhancing contrast, especially on newer devices (S24 series and up), and it's found in Settings > Advanced features > Super HDR for toggling it on/off or adjusting brightness for HDR.

That would be why. I have an S23U, for which that setting apparently doesn't exist.
