Galaxy S25I do not understand what you are trying to accomplish here. If Textra is starting to fail on group messages, then you need to switch apps. If neither Samsung messages nor Google messages reside on your device, you will have to download one of them. Samsung messages can only be obtained from the Galaxy store, and you will not see it if there is no version available for your phone (it's no longer available for every phone). Google messages can be downloaded from the play store.
I don't know who told you to go to another messaging app to turn off RCS, but the settings of one messaging app have absolutely nothing to do with the settings in another app. While you can have multiple messaging apps reside on your phone, only one can be used at a time and must be made the default app in order to use it. What you were likely told was to switch to Google messages and activate RCS, which works best for MMS group chats. To my understanding, Textra does not have RCS and Samsung messages version of RCS only works with certain carriers and has incomplete compatibility with iPhone users.
